According to Paris Good Fashion’s guide to sustainable image production, “During a year, no less than 50,000 shootings occurred in the city of Paris alone. Unlike other sectors of the fashion and luxury industry, the sustainability impact of image remains one of the least explored.”
In collaboration with Beau magazine, the IFM MA IMAGE editorial creation workshop around ‘sustainable image’ explores the meaning of sustainable image and the possibilities of creating one. Producing content and visibility is a must for a brand to survive. How can we design and inspire the industry to produce visuals as a whole with a sustainable approach?
Students explored the problems faced by the image creatives and communication offices to propose solutions based on their research.
Throughout the workshop, led by Rotem Rachel Chen, IFM MA IMAGE students met with industry professionals including David Frasson-Botton - CEO of Sheriff Projects, and Soumïa Maldji – Head of Sustainability of Sheriff Projects discussed being a B Corp company in the fashion industry and what it really means.
Sylvain Vitrat – Art Director at Beau magazine talked about making and choosing images as a dedicated sustainability publication. Caroline Guinet – Digital producer at BETC spoke about how we can achieve sustainability on digital platforms and tools to measure it.
